Nita Renfrew on her new book, a history of the constitutional militia movement of the 1990s
Please join us tonight for the monthly meeting of the 9/11 and Other Deep State Crimes Teleconference, which will feature journalist and author Nita Renfrew discussing her book America’s Shooting Edge: The Militia is You, A History of the Constitutional Militia Movement of the 1990s.
Nita was born in Manhattan, and grew up in Mexico, studying in Switzerland and Germany in her teens. Subsequent to her time in Israel, where she spent nine months as a volunteer on border Kibbutz Shaar HaGolan in 1968-’69, just after the Six-Day War, she returned to Manhattan, where she worked in the art world in the 1970s.
At the same time she became close to some of the leaders of the revolutions of the Sandinistas in Nicaragua, and the Iranian efforts to oust the Shah in Iran. She worked for a Public Affairs firm in programs for several foreign countries seeking to better their relations with the U.S. Nita accompanied Fr. Ernesto Cardenal to Iran to meet with the Ayatollah Khomeini in April of 1979.
In the late 1980s, early 1990s, Nita was a correspondent for Le Monde Diplomatique en Espanol. Her articles appeared in Foreign Affairs and The Wall Street Journal, among others, after she was invited to be member of study groups on Iran and Iraq in the Council on Foreign Relations. Soon, she discovered that it is not possible to make a living in journalism by telling the truth.
She spent six years in the 1990s writing her book, which was not published, except for the first few chapters in a blog—found at: militiahistorian.blogspot.com.
After 9/11, Nita dropped journalism (which had ceased to exist in its true form) and turned to energy healing, becoming a Reiki Master and massage therapist. Today, Nita has dedicated her life to serving her community of Birds and Squirrels in Central Park.
